Pradosh Patnaik

LIFE

Pradosh Patnaik is an eminent journalist, columnist and social activist. He is also an organizer in the field of culture of Odisha. He was born in Jatni in undivided Puri district on 18th September, 1948.

He is the son of late Prananath Patnaik, a legendary freedom fighter, educationist, social reformer and writer and Late Manjari Patnaik, noted social activist and writer. In his early childhood he was greatly influenced by his parents who totally dedicated themselves for the cause of country's freedom and upliftment of the poor and downtrodden people of the society.

His family was suffering a lot due to poverty and torture of British police. Facing all these odds and difficulties Shri Patnaik took his early education in Jatni and Khordha high schools and moved to Bhubaneswar for higher college and University education. He obtained M.A degree in political science from Utkal University in 1971 and Diploma in Journalism from Pune University, Maharashtra-1972.
