Achievements

As a leading social activist, Sri Pradosh Patnaik is associated with a number of socio cultural and literary organizations of not only Bhubaneswar but also the entire State. As founder President of Capital Day celebration committee, he started the celebration of formation of State Capital in Bhubaneswar since last 35 years. Now this day is being observed in a grand way in collaboration with the State Government. He is also the founder president of National Journalist Welfare Board which is looking after the welfare of the journalists of the country. The board has opened branches in various States and regions of the country and taking many welfare measures for the scribes. Under his able guidance and leadership NJWB every year gives pensions and health insurance facilities to all senior journalists above 65 years of age. While the State government is unable to provide pensions to senior journalists of the State, the board has taken these bold ventures in its own efforts. Sri Patnaik is also the founder President of a leading voluntary organization of the State called the SUPPORT and under his presidentship every year it organizes blood donation camps, plantations, social awareness camps, literary camps in slum areas of the city.

As an organizer in cultural field, his organizations, ODISHA CINE CRITICS ASSOCIATION - OCCA and SANSKRUTI O SANSKRUTI every year organize seminars, symposiums and film award functions to promote and encourage the new talents in the field of film and drama.

Awards
  • During long career of Journalism, he has received around 350 awards and honoured by many organizations of the state which cannot be described in this word limit but the most notable award is ODISHA SAHITYA ACADEMY AWARD for literature for the year 2016.
  • The century old literary organization of Odisha Utkal Sahitya Samaj has also conferred Udayanath Sarangi Award in the field of Odia Journalism.
  • The other awards include second Barendra Krushna Dhal award by Bhubneswar book fair, Janaki Ballav Patnaik memorial award, Chintamani Panighari memorial award, Harishchandra Buxipatra memorial award, Jai Kiran Samman-2017, Satabdi Purusha Samman-2019 by Disha, Rangam Samman, Gopinath Mohanty Samman, all Odisha Allahabad bank employees Samman, Odisha Swara Samman, Sandipana Samman-2018, Prananath Autonomous college award-2016, Rameswara Samman, Senior Citizens Award, Utkala Samad Ratna Samman Puri, Jai Odisha Samman, Dooradarshi Samman, Kalindi Behera Smruti Samman, Ama Bhubaneswar Samman-2006, Interview Times Award, Odisha Secondary Schools teacher association award, Mother Prativa Samman-2011, Indian Council of Bank of Baroda Employees Associations Award- 2019, Odisha Durniti Birodhi Mancha award-2015, Odisha Diploma Engineers Platinum Jubuli Award, Poet Ananta Patnaik Memorial Award, Karmaveer Gouri Shankar Award, Focus Plus Award -2022, Ganesh Mohatsav Award-2022, Kotha Ghar Leterature Award - 2022 etc.
  • In National level also he has received a number of awards which include prestigious All India Swarup Jena memorial award for his outstanding contribution to the field of journalism, National Journalist welfare board has also conferred on him SAMBADIK GOURAV SAMMAN for his contribution to the field. He received National Media Academy Award-2000 for his contribution to journalism and in a special function organized in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Chief Minister MR. NAVEEN PATNAIK had handed over this award to him. The oldest cultural organization PRACHEEN KALA KENDRA OF CHANDIGARH has also given its best award KALA KENDRA AWARD-2018 for his contribution to the field of culture. For this purpose Pracheen Kala Kendra arranged a special function in Bhanja Kala Mandap Bhubaneswar to felicitate him.
  • Sri Patnaik also received the INDUSTRY AND MINES OBSERVER AWARD for his outstanding contribution. Parichaya Foundation Lifetime Achievment Award sponsored by Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL).
